Stock footage that doesn't look like stock footage
Cinematic footage licensed from working filmmakers, with curated collections and free clip research.
Filmsupply is a footage licensing platform that represents working filmmakers and studios, offering cinematic clips shot for real films, ads and music videos. It has curated collections, browse-by-shoot and a free research service that finds clips from your brief. Licenses are per clip, from $109 for internal use and $219 for web and social.
Everyone knows the stock footage look. The handshake in a glass office. The team laughing at a laptop. The drone shot over a city that could be anywhere. It's footage that exists to fill a gap, and it looks like it.
Filmsupply is built on the opposite idea. It licenses footage from working filmmakers and studios, the kind of material that was shot for real films, ads and music videos, and makes it available for your project. It calls itself the global leader in cinematic footage licensing, and the roster backs that up: filmmakers from studios like M ss ng P eces, Biscuit and Anonymous Content.

Why it looks different
The footage wasn't made to be generic, so it isn't. You get real lighting, real performances and real camera work, with the kind of mood that's hard to fake. When a clip was shot as part of a short film or a campaign, it carries that intent with it, and your edit feels less like it was assembled from parts.
Filmsupply also runs Filmsupply Films, which releases award-winning short films and makes the footage from them available to license. It's a smart setup. You can watch the whole film, fall for a shot, and then use it.
Finding the right clip
The library is organized around curated collections, which is where a lot of the discovery happens. Recent ones include VHS Analog Aesthetics, Unique Points of View, Twists and Turns and seasonal sets. The 2025 Trend Report is a good example of how they think about it: a collection built around hypnotic choreography, analog experiences and striking surrealism, pulled from filmmakers across the library. The video at the top of this article comes from it.
There's also standard search with filters, and a feature that lets you browse by shoot or scene. If you find one great clip, you can see the rest of what was captured on that shoot, which makes it far easier to build a sequence that actually feels continuous.
The research service
This is the underrated part. Send Filmsupply a brief, a treatment or even a rough description of what you're after, and their team will put a list of clips into your account within one business day, at no extra cost. For anyone who has lost an afternoon scrolling through near-misses, that alone is worth the account.
The pricing
You license per clip, and the price depends on where the footage will be used. Internal use, like meetings, training or shareholder presentations, starts at $109 a clip. Web and social starts at $219 a clip. Extended use, which covers TV and broadcast, film, streaming, out of home, video games and more, is quoted per project. Creating an account is free.
Heads up
It's premium footage at premium prices. If you need twenty clips of generic b-roll for an internal explainer, a subscription library will be far cheaper. Filmsupply makes the most sense when a handful of shots really have to carry the piece.
The per-clip model also takes some planning. Costs add up quickly on a longer edit, so it's worth being clear about where the video will run before you start collecting favorites.
Who it's for
Agencies and brands making spots that need to feel cinematic. Editors building pitch films and sizzle reels. Directors assembling mood films for treatments. Anyone whose work would be let down by footage that looks like stock.
Start with the 2025 Trend Report collection, even if you're not buying anything yet. It's a good read on where visual culture is heading this year.
